Conducting Field Work in Malawi

At Infinite Insight, our motto is “We Know Africa!” And rightfully so.

Malawi’s diverse communities requires thoughtful, locally informed research approaches to ensure meaningful and accurate insights for our clients.

Like most African countries, Malawi has a sizeable rural population, with subsistence farming accounting for a significant portion of its agricultural outputs.

Our team has conducted several research assignments which explored its farming and agricultural sector.

Here are some thoughts from Paul, our Senior Field Coordinator, based on his experience on the ground:

“Over the years, our team in collaboration with the local field teams has conducted several agronomical and Afrobarometer research assignments.

All these have been great experiences and learnings from Malawian farming and agricultural sector, from the tea growers’ slopes of the Mulanje mountains to the beautiful southern city of Blantyre. From the traders in the old city of Zomba plateau in Central, to exploring with the fishing communities in Salima township by the shores of Lake Malawi to the the capital city Lilongwe all the way to Northern city of Mzuzu and coffee farmers in Rumphi.”
